Size Matters: Sports Bedding Size Guide
When you are looking to purchase sports sets for your child’s room, you will probably know whether they have a twin, double, queen or king style. That isn’t enough, however. Did you know that there are also extra long twin and California King Size beds? You should know the dimensions as well as the name so you can be assured that what you choose will be the right fit. This avoids disappointment and hassle later when you bring it home and realize you need to take it back to the store, or ship it back to the online company you bought it from.

It is important to know the dimensions for each piece separately because you may want to buy sheets for a twin, but you want to purchase a bigger comforter to cover the sides. You will also want to consider the type: is it a bunk, captain, or is it a regular type with a box spring and space between the frame and the floor? If your child has a captain’s style, then buying a bigger comforter may not be feasible or convenient; neither would a bed skirt. Remember also that some material shrinks in the wash. Read the label and washing instructions carefully. If you are still not sure, ask the store clerk.
When you make your purchase the package will tell you the size as well as the dimensions. Write down the measurements before you visit the store or go online so you know exactly what you need to buy. Know what the store’s return policy is just in case. Don’t purchase anything online until you know that you can ship it back if it isn’t right.
